Pedestrian Safety

The 2001 McLean Streetscape Project called for "improving the pedestrian environment of McLean through traffic calming; the installation of streetscape improvements such as street trees, sidewalks and street furnishings; and the creation of special improvements in key areas."

Benches

MRC has purchase 10 benches, which have been installed at bus stops around the business CBC. Benches are accompanied by trash receptacles and oversized planters. This activity supports the goal of making McLean a more comfortable area for pedestrians and transit users.

Bus shelters

In conjunction with the approved new bus route through downtown McLean, the MRC is finalizing plans for new bus shelters which will be placed in and around heavily trafficked bus stops in downtown McLean. With the support of adjoining businesses, these shelters will provide seating and refuge from weather for bus riders.
