Press Release – Public Forums: Main Street and The Revitalization of Downtown McLean
Pilot Project – The Streetscape Improvement Pilot Project includes brick pavers, updated lighting, and landscaping.
Undergrounding Utilities – Work has begun to move utility lines underground.
Pedestrian Safety – MRC has arranged for the purchase and installation of several benches and bus shelters.
The McLean Revitalization Corporation (MRC) promotes and facilitates the revitalization of the McLean Community Business Center (CBC). Revitalization involves joint efforts by residents, landowners, businesses, and civic organizations to enhance the the CBC’s appearance, make if a more pedestrian friendly center of activity, and increase its economic vitality.
MRC Objectives:
- improve the appearance and ambience of the CBC
- enhance pedestrian access and activity
- improve traffic flow and safety
- promote balanced land use
- encourage creative partnerships with private/public development
